I converted from PC to Mac and so far i'm very satisfied. I have a MBP 1.83 base model. Anyways, I deal with a lot of files that are either in zip format or .RAR format. I downloaded unrarx which i read about in another forum. When i try to unrar a file my mac just freezes. I don't know if it is the MBP or the unrarx or my rar files. Any suggestions of other rar programs? Please help.

I don't think UnRarX has converted over to Universal Binary yet. Try RAR Expander instead. It seems to work pretty well.

Stuffit Expander should work for most RAR files too (though I use UnRarX when it doesn't). It's hard to say why UnRarX would make your MBP freeze since that's pretty unusual, but I can see it being a problem with it being PPC only, I guess.
