the mac book is not suppose to be silent correct? you still hear the fans and a small whine right? i saw a clip on youtube and the guys mbp whine was loud as heck. on mine i hear it only if i get real close.

In working with a similar problem it comes down to whether the MPB is worth its investiment. If the whine is not a bother then the MPB is good, if it is a bother then it is not worth the investiment. Typically electronics have a burn in period, once by that there should be little change. .. At least this my humbe opinion.

i only hear it if i put my ear real close, no where as loud as the one on youtube.com.... when i bought the mbp, the lady at the apple store got it stright from the fresh deliverary box. other than that, the frakin machine is AWESOME. its my first mac...i am coming from a win xp/ubuntu user. the interface is so smooth, quick, and clean.
