P.S. Probably should be a permanent post -- I think I agreed with every statement except the negative experience with the Apple Store (I've had nothing but good experiences to date).

Kind of outdated now though. Seems to be about 3 years old, so nothing about Intel, Boot Camp, etc.

Despite it being dated, what I find amazing is how currently applicable the comments still are -- maybe we should just update it with mactel data for switchers?

http://utilware.com/wavering.html

here is his latest posts about switching.

Reswitched.
Well, that took about 48 hours. After my "permanent migration" to the Dell, I've ended up switching back to the PowerBook yet again. I've got to stop moving back and forth, because it's starting to make me nuts. Here's why I'm back on the PowerBook:

• Virus problems within eight hours of switching, and that's with antivirus software
• Forgot just how ugly PC fonts are; how bad the Dell LCD is
• Couldn't stand the external DVD/CD-RW on the Dell
• Missed the stupid grin I got using the PowerBook power adapter
• Really like the idea of having my own stuff on my own laptop
