I just installed a 1gig G. Skill stick from newegg and my MacBook has successfully found it.

I've never installed RAM before, but I have read that there are programs that check sectors of your RAM for any errors. Anyone know of any Mac programs?

I just want to make sure the RAM is good, otherwise I'm another satsified newegg customer.

Also you should use the Apple Hardware Test that came with the machine. Boot up with the OS disk holding the D key (not the normal C). Run the Extended test on the ram - it will take a while but it is pretty good.

actually, memtest found bad errors in the ram that apple hardware test didn't find. and other people have had the same experience.
