I'm looking for a clear film to cover the top of my MacBook with. I'm leaning towards the 3M Scotchguard film. I'm just curious if anyone knows of anything that would be similar yet thinner?
I'm looking for minor scratch protection as well as a means to doodle on the cover. Ideas?

Whitebook / BlacBook?
I am thinking of the old days of clear plastic slipcovers over furniture...

WhiteBook of course. I imagine the BlackBook witha clear film over the cover would scream "tackiness".

um, wouldn't it interfere with the coolilng of the laptop since it also relies on heat transfer, not just fans?

There's a company called Vix that markets TiArmor. It's pretty much Scotchguard but cut out for the different sized PowerBooks. It is sized for the top of the laptop (with a hole in the middle for the Apple symbol and the palm rests.

You might e-mail them to see if they'll size one up for the MacBook....
You can probably just cut it yourself and save a few bucks.

I don't think white would. It would be easier to get away with using the film on white as opposed to the black.
And to uicandrew, I don't think cooling would an issue if i were covering jsut the top.
