how's Macbook (let's say black one) compare against PB 12 (the final rev)??

I mean in overall performance and graphic performance in particular..

Any regret for previous PB12 owners to upgrade?

I don't have a MacBook, but I've used one. It certainly blows my 1.33ghz 12" PB out of the water in terms of performance. I haven't done any graphics testing, but what I've read leads me to believe that it's similar in performance, despite the PB's independent graphics card (that is to say, they both kind of suck). I think the only thing people might regret about upgrading form the 12" PB to the MacBook is the additional size and weight, although it's not that huge of a difference, really.

My black macBook smokes my old 12" PB. The 12" PB was a lot hotter then this thing too.

I also went from a 12" 1.5 PowerBook to first, a MBP 1.83 then finally a MacBook 2.0. Both the MB and the MBP literally walk off and leave the PB 1.5 in performance. Of course, routine tasks like Safari, Mail, etc. are about the same, but more intensive tasks don't even compare. For example, using Handbrake to rip a DVD, nearly 2hours long took about 4+ hours on the PB. The MB ripped the same DVD is about 35 minutes. Absolutely incredible power we have now, guys.

if youre going to use apps that run through rosetta...theres no need to upgrade till said apps become native (such as the case with adobe). this is the only reason i havent let my powerbook go yet, i have a 1.83 intel and they feel the same when using Adobe CS2, which are my main apps for work.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)
