Another Macbook Question?

What I'm noticing with my Macbook is that when i have the battery charging the laptop doesnt get that warm but when the battery gets the full charge and i take out the plug the computer starts getting much warmer. Could this be because when i charge the battery it only runs on 1GHZ instead of 2GHz?
