Macbookpro trackpad issue with Appleworks

Just got a macbookpro and everything is going really well except with Appleworks.
The scrolling trackpad won't scroll pages up ! it only goes down and the sideway movement works well. Plugging a mighty mouse and using the tiny ball moves the page up & down, right & left, no problem.
I have already, repaired permissions, trash the AW pref files etc.. to no avail.
Is that just me or anyone is having the same issue ?
