my iBook bit the dust last year and i have been putting off fixing it - but i would like to replace the hard drive now so my wife can use it (she is sick of her Dell laptop) here is the original thread

http://forums.macnn.com/69/mac-notebooks/274754/ibook-hardrive-is-fd/

i am going to use a ifixit.com guide to do it and i am also going to get a few tools from them - now i just have to figure out what hard drive to get. in that original thread GHporter suggested this hard drive

http://www.macconnection.com/ProductDetail?Sku=5841562

i was thinking a smaller version of that one because i dont really need 80gb

http://www.macconnection.com/ProductDetail?Sku=5742100

that should work with my G4 800mhz right?

thanks guys i appreciate the help

Yep, that drive would work. I personally would recommend this drive:

Samsung drives are extremely reliable, very quiet and don't get hot (that's one reason why they are so reliable) - and still this drive is $10 cheaper. But I heard nothing negative about the drive you've chosen, either.
