My friend who is very wasteful, had an extremely ridiculous reason for buying the same stick of RAM that he bought two days ago and don't ask me why unless your really want to know.

Anyway, he basically gave me a perfectly good 1 gig stick of RAM for free that is meant for the MBP. I'm wondering if it will work in my sisters computer. My sister (who switched thanks to me bugging her everyday) has a 1.5 ghz G4 powerbook and she does lots of iphoto/photoshop elements stuff as well as multitasking in terms of tons of apps opened up at the same time.

She loves the mac and has gotten used to OS X pretty quickly but commented that the computer acts real sluggish when she is using it, especially the photo stuff. What will happen if I try and install the RAM? Will it downgrade in speed to match the PB or just not register at all?

DDR2 RAM does not work and will not even fit in a machine that uses DDR RAM because of different keying.

DDR2 SODIMMs currently only work in intel based Macs ( Mini Core Duo/Solo, Mac Book, Mac Book Pro, Intel based iMac )

Post a message on the for-sale board(s). Maybe you can get someone to swap with you.

And the final revision of PowerBooks with marginally higher resolution screens.
