Alright, first poster! Sorry for the lengthy post.

I got a new 1.8 whitebook about a week ago and it is awesome (first Apple). No moo-ing, in the low 60's temp wise all the time, one stuck pixel, but I have to hunt for it. The bluetooth Apple keyboard and Logitech mouse work flawlessly. So all in all great.

BUT

One quick question. I did a search and found a couple *similar* posts pertaining to ibooks, but here goes.

I put the computer to sleep at night when I go to bed by closing it. But when I wake up in the morning and open the clamshell, it will not turn on. I can hit keys, use bluetooth devices, hit the power key, nothing works. The first time I had to unplug it and take out the battery then turn it on again! The last time it happened, it would turn off if I held the power button long enough, letting me turn it back on, but it is still really annoying. The thing is, if I put it to sleep w/ the remote, or let it go to sleep by itself with the lid open, it wakes up in less than a second. Also, if I close it for just a few minutes, it will wake back up without a problem....it seems to be when it's closed for an extended period of time.

Is there some system preference I'm not seeing, or is it a known software problem, or should I take my chances with a new computer (still in the 21 day return policy).

Thanks!

I assume its just a bug of some kind and should be fixed within the next update.

Could be due to your bluetooth devices. Try turning them off, and bluetooth off in OS X before you sleep the Mac next time.

Thanks Sean, I'll give that a shot. And I hope they release an update soon to fix it, the computer is incredible!

You can try pressing the power button, then hit "S", then after the sleep light comes on, press any key to wake it back up. I have this same problem on my Powerbook sometimes.

I tried turning off the bluetooth and shutting it to sleep last night and it worked! Any key will wake it back up, then turn bluetooth back on.
