Whine went away when I installed new memory, temps dropped slightly

edit: It has more to do with Airport I think. The whines back after switching it on.
And load temps dropped from 92 at full load (30C) ambient to 82 at full load (32C ambient) and the bottom feels cooler. Magic?

Some RAM pulls more power than other brands. No, I don't know which brands, but I do know it happens. That could be the cause of the temperature difference you saw.
