Hello,
I remember when I uesd to have a PC running Windows 2000. On this PC I could set a "BIOS password", so you were unable to boot the computer without this password.
I have a login password for OSX on my new MacBook, but I would like to have a little more security.
Will it be possible to set something like a master password on the mac, so the computer will be impossible to boot without this password?

AFAIK, the EFI setup on the Intel Macs does not currently have support for any sort of boot password

Are you asking if OS X can be configured to require a password everytime you login? If so, then just use the Accounts Sytem Prefs, under "login options" to turn off "automatically log in as" and set the "display login window as" to "name and password".
You'll now have to enter the admin password everytime you restart.
Also, under the Security System Pref, activate "require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver" and "disable automatic login" and "require password to unlock each secure system pref"
In any case, you should also "lock" both "Accounts" and "security" by clicking the lock at the bottom left of each pref pane. Just don't forget your admin password...

Not yet as far as I know. Open Firmware used to do this in the PPC-era, but I don't know if there is a Intel/EFI-alternative yet.

Even the cheapest PC with a BIOS can require a boot password... but I don't know how to get into the EFI configuration on a Mac.
