Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a CPU widget that I check 4-5 times a day. After starting up my computer, it's usually at around a 5-25% load. However, after a while (could be 5 minutes, could be 5 hours) when I go back in to use my widgets, I notice the CPU is stuck at 99% . My only guess is that A) a ppc app running under rosetta is looping the processor, or B) the widget is wrong. The computer gets fairly toasty under 99% load but not enough to make the fans kick in more than a few times. Here is a screenshot of the CPU monitor (right above the apple). I've searched the net and several forums with no luck, if anyone is experiencing the same thing or has a fix, please let me know.

PS - If this problem is widespread, it could account for many of the heat issues being experienced by people.

Forget the widget; use top or Activity Monitor to see precisely what is hogging the processor. I very much doubt this precise problem is widespread or is generating the reports of high MPB heat levels.

Thanks,

Checked activity monitor and "freepops" appears to be the culprit. Too bad, great app that I really rely on.

*UPDATE*

Just checked and there was an update avaiable for freepops, I think this may have solved the problem.
