Obviously, a lot of us are concerned. In my case, we're slowly moving all our powerbook users to mbp ... and the missing link is the replacement for the PCMCIA EVDO card that all the executives use while on travel.

The good news is that mac support is not far away. We buy all our PCMCIA EVDO from these fine folks and it looks like they're working double time to make sure that mac users are not left behind: http://www.evdoinfo.com/

My PC5220 card and my KPC650 worked without software on my 17" Powerbook. Are the Macbooks that different in OSX mode? Or are you simply referring to the PC mode?

In case others didn't see it .. 10.4.7 has support for some new EVDO Cards

Adds support for Sierra wireless cards AirCard 580 (AC580), PC5220, and for the Novatel V620, S620, and U730 wireless cards for PowerBook computers. -- taken from 10.4.7 Update Note (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303771)

The interesting bit is that the Dell Expresscard is just a rebranded Novatel XV620 .. so 10.4.7 has drivers for the 620 series, though the XV varient isn't listed .. but it may work...
