So...when I first got my mbp, I was getting about 3 hours battery life, even after "calibrating" my battery, once I put it under load with photoshop and dreamweaver, it dropped to about 2 hours rather quickly. In the past few days however, my fully charged battery life has gone up to about 3:40 to 3:20 even under load. Not that I'm complaining, but how can this be?

Is this according to the battery monitor in the menu bar or from actual measured time until the machine goes to sleep? You can rarely trust the calculated value in the menu bar.

Well, originally this info was from the battery monitor in the menu bar, which I figured was like the "time to install" dialogue box.....= Bullsh*t, but once I started keeping track of my charge time,I noticed it really has increased significantly. Weird I know, but true. I am stoked. I do web pages as a side job and regularly run photoshop cs1, dreamweaver, and a various file renaming apps, text apps (office, etc), photogallery apps, and a handful of browsers. I would say the machine is under load simply because all these programs are running under emulation aka rosetta. The machine gets fairly warm too. But sure nuff, my usable time on the battery is getting better.
