Hi, I have an iBook G4 purchased back in early 2005 and was wondering if my video card could support the native resolutions of external dual function lcd monitors / TV whose resolutions range from 1280 x 1024 to 1366 x 768 (widescreen).

Thanks!

The iBook G4 can support up to 24 inch displays I believe. It may change the resolution however of the displays.

If you are talking about spanning (aka not displaying the same pic on both the laptop screen & the external screen), then you will need to look for something called Screen Spanning Doctor to enable spanning, which would also allow you to run the ext monitor at its full res.

Thanks for the responses, I'm glad to know that screen mirroring (which is what I want) will work but I should have clarified my question - will be able to use the nativ resolution of the monitor? Or will it be displayed in 1024 x 768 (12" iBook G4 resolution)? I would like to take advantage of the higher pixel count in these larger lcd monitors / TV's...

If you used the default mirroring, then you will only be able to go up to 1024 x 768. If you use Screen SPanning Doctor to enable spanning, then you can use the native res of the ext monitor
