i bought a new superdrive white macbook today and the ammount on the hard drive seems to be a bit off. as soon as i turned it on it said i have used 13GB and i was down from the total 60 to 38. any idea why it says this or how to fix it?

Do you think that all the installed stuff (like iMovie, Garageband etc) just store themselves in thin air...???

It comes with loads of apps installed - taking up space. Also, the actual capacity of the 60 GB HD is 55 GB - you loose some space in the formatting - this is the same with _all_ HDs

yeah i know.
i was just suprised since this didnt really happen with my imac g5 a year ago.

hey guy you know what. it happen on me today. after i download limewire. before i download it was 5X GB. but after i installed it saids 38.55GB available. i am like what the hell.?? did i do something wrong???
