I recently acquired a Wallstreet Powerbook G3 in very good condition. I upgraded the internal HD to 32 GB IBM Travelstar and have successfully installed OSX up to 10.2.8. It seems to run well with the most current release of Firefox and Safari.

I'd like to add Firewire to the Wallstreet and got an Adaptec FireConnect firewire card.

Theoretically, OSX ouoght to have drivers to recognize this card and make it useful. However, when I plug it in, a pcmcia card icon shows on the top menu bar. When I click on it, it has "unknown vendor' and 'firewire controller' grayed out and the only option is 'eject card'.

I ran system profiler to see if I could see the card there. No luck.

But even more odd, I noticed that my Wallstreet doesn't have a 'Boot ROM' ID.

How can this be? Can I update the Boot ROM?

Thanks
