I have an iBook G4, 256, 1.2, OS10.4.7. All original from when I bought it last April except the OS, which I upgraded to 10.4.
Recently it has started to run painfully slow, even when I am just running two programs, Microsoft Messenger and Safari. Trying to run a program like Limewire is a joke.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this or has it just gotten out of date already??

More Ram? I will note however, my brother continually whined about his iBook running painfully slower than it had when new, and wasn't able to attribute it to lack of ram- it was actually the beginning of a failing hard disk.

Yeah when I took a G4 933 iBook off of a friend's hands, it had a bad HD. Thankfully I had a 40gig lying around that I put in it. Though shortly after, the Combo Drive failed. Since I got it for free, I willingly traded it for a G3.
