Hello All,

I have 1.33 GHZ 17" PowerBook that I bought at a huge discount because it was a store demo model at CompUsa.

Well, as expected, the battery has been starting to go. I currently can only get just over an hour on the charge. So, I'm gearing up for a battery replacement.

An odd thing happened to me about a week ago.

The power adapter still seems to charge the battery just fine, but now when it's plugged in, it is always green. It no longer switches to orange while charging, the way it has since I bough the thing.

About 6 months ago, the thing would go orange while asleep, and when I woke it from sleep, it would go green until the time next to the battery changed from the word "Calculating...." to the time left to change. It would then go orange again until fully charged.

Has anyone seen this kind of symptom before. I have reset the PMU and it has not helped the issue. I was going to zan the PRAM (perhaps it's called the NVRAM in this model...), but I am not sure if clearing the PMU automatically clears the PRAM, or if the PRAM is even still used under OS X.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

And, yes, I did buy AppleCare, but they're closed and I won't get to try again until sometime tomorrow night, so I thought I would see the opinion of the collective wisdon...
