Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys had tried to play the Mac (or Windows in parallels) version of The Sims 2 on your MacBooks ... I read on another forum that it worked well (believe it or not) but they didn't specify which platform it was on, nor did they answer my PM's . Anyway, if any of you guys have tried the Sims 2 on a MacBook and could give me a few specs, that would be great!

It's basically the only graphics-intensive game I ever play (unless you count Pac Man... just kidding) so if it were to work on the MacBook that would PWN life.

When I first got my MB, I put Boot Camp on it, and tried the sims 2 under windows. It worked surprisingly well, at medium settings. If I took all the settings down to 0, game play was perfect.

AFAIK, the Sims 2 for Mac is not yet a universal binary, so even on the MBP w/ a good graphics card will perform poorly with that version. You also say in your post Windows in Parallels - I doubt the Sims will even launch in parallels due to the lack of graphics utilities in parallels.

Haven't tried it yet on my MacBook - but it's certainly got a Universal Binary updater...

On the MacGameStore site it says these are the requirements:
Radeon 9000 or better
GeForce FX5200 or better
Maybe try the Gaming forum here and someone there will have a better answer.

My brother is running XP on his Mini (Core Solo) and plays Sims 2 on it no problem. It should be fine on a Macbook.

yeah, I just hate rebooting . Um, does your brother run XP as his primary OS? I mean... like that defeats the purpose of buying a Mac, but w/e.
