I bought my Macbook in Korea and understandably, it came with the Korean plug for the socket. I was wondering where I could buy just the U.S. plug adaptor for U.S. sockets. I do not really want to buy the world kit, as I don't need the other plugs. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The other option, rather than buying the world travel adapter kit, is to just go into any old hardware store and buy a power cord for a standard electric razor.

It will work just fine and cost you maybe two dollars.

are you sure this will work? i have a standard electric razor with the cord.... it seems a bit odd to me though that i would use that coily black cord for my razor to charge my macbook...

The socket is a completely ordinary razor cord socket.

Yes, it will work exactly as well as the little corner piece supplied by Apple.

I tried to fit my electric razor cord but it wouldn't fit. The razor cord is a little too small... anyone know where I can find just that square end piece for U.S. ac adaptor? I do not want to buy the travel kit as the travel kit actually may not even have the U.S. one.

Just get one on eBay, or if you're near an Apple Store, just ask them for one. They often have spares. Their official name is "duck heads".

That's odd...every single electric razor/radio cord I've used has fit perfectly in every single Apple power supply - they're completely standard, just like the three-prong cords used on the iMacs (though not on the PowerMac G5, for whatever idiotic reason).

The power adaptors use standard figure of 8 plugs - which are used for almost every electronic device (camcorders, radios, tv's, playstations etc). My razor has a miniturised figure of 8 plug, and hence will not fit in the apple charger.

Does the "duck head" for ibook work for Macbook? My sister actually has an extra duck head, but she has an ibook... It seems to fit fine...

Yep it does. The 'duck heads' for Apple iPod chargers, iBook, powerbook, macbook, macbook pro's are all the same
