I keep reading about how a MacBook was made during week X or Y and I was wondering does this have any correlation with the problems people are having with their MacBooks? I am planning on heading out to pick one up tonight since I leave for over seas in about a month I wanted to put it through some serious testing before I hop on a plane with it.

Can anyone tell me which week is "safer" to pick up or am I just being paranoid?

I have heard that changes were made on week 25+ MacBooks. The plastic case was replaced so it doesnt discolor and there were some issues with noises that were apparently fixed.

First post here... let me say I've lurked here for a while and was reading everyone's nightmares w/ the Macbook to the point that I was afraid to buy one. I finally sucked it up and just bought it on Sunday at the store in Pittsburgh (Shadyside). It's a week 22 black model and I am extremely pleased with it after about 5 days. I haven't upgraded the RAM yet, which is the problem I am most concerned about.
Macbook Air | 1.6 Ghz Core 2 Duo | 2 GB | 80 GB
Macbook (Black, Week 22) | 2.0 Ghz Core Duo | 2 GB | 120 GB
Mac Mini | 1.25 Ghz G4 | 40 GB | 1 GB
iPods | Touch 16 GB | 4G 20 GB | 5G 30 GB (White) | Nano 2 GB (Black) | 2G Shuffle 1 GB

I think some of the problems are over dramatized.... I had probems but still am very satisfied with the computer, I think you will be happy also.

I picked it up last night. So far working like a champ, granted it's only the first day but I havent had any noise issues so far and everything seems to be running smoothly. The battery area isnt getting overly hot either.
