I'm new to this forum, but I have been looking it for some time now. Anyways, I recently received my 2nd replacement MBP and everything works fine: there is no whine and it actually turns on. However, it came with 10.4.6 installed, and when i do the software update to 10.4.7, the iSight begins to not function. No matter what program utilizes the built-in iSight in 10.4.7, the video preview display (or whatever you call it) that is showing the live video feed has tons a little blue dots in a waving pattern all over it. And when you take a snapshot, it also shows the blue dots. This seems to me the only noticeable problem, so i just reverted back to 10.4.6 where the iSIght works properly. Any ideas?

Take it to a genius bar and explain this to them.

Yeah, that seems to be a pretty bizarre and isolated problem that requires Apple support.

Sorry you've had bad luck...
