My LCD on my powerbook busted a while back. Now that I've saved enough money to get it fixed, I have some questions?

Can I put a hi res 1680x1050 LCD in place of the stock 1440x900 screen? Will the video card support the hi res screen?

Also I've heard of problems after LCD replacement. Such as the Powerbook not going to sleep, loss of brightness control, light sensor problems etc........any one have any of these things happen? If so how did you fix them???

Any help about this would be great.
Thanks.

No, you can't put a higher resolution display in. It's not a matter of the graphics chip not being able to drive it. It's a matter of the machine not recognizing it as it's display.

Why would replacing the display cause the problems you mention? Unless during the course of the replacement, the magnet in the lid used for sleep was accidentally removed. Brightness and the sensor have nothing to do with the panel itself.
