Mac OS 10.4.7 updated by me from the combo download.

Recently, multicolor vertical stripes started to appear in the display when I turn on the MacBook 13".

The MacBook starts without the stripes after I remove the battery and press the opt-Apple-P-R key combination when turning on the MacBook. I've removed and reinserted the two 1GB RAM modules. The startup memory OK gong is loud and clear when the stripes don't appear.

Sometimes the MacBook starts without holding the opt-Apple-P-R keys.

Has anyone had and solved this problem?

Hans, I think you might want to edit your post. I don't think you want to be telling everyone the whole serial number of you machine!
