Is there an easy and stable way to "clone" an entire image of a hard disk on a bootable DVD? Similar to what you can do with i.e. Norton Ghost on a PC.

Basically, I just bought a MBP but I'm using the 30day trial Adobe apps - the same ones that I had previously bought for a PC - since I already have the full licence for these on a PC (and since the licence allows for installation on one desktop + one laptop)... I can't really afford to buy another set of the same apps to use on MBP. Especially considering the fact that they are not made for intel chips yet.

I'd like to be able to create a bootable image of my MBP with the 30 day triall apps installed, so I could keep reinstalling the same copy untill Adobe comes up with universal version.

I understand this may not be entirely legal and definitely not in Adobe's best interest - but it just makes absolutely no senese for me to buy another set of the same apps that won't even work that well on an Intel Mac.

Alternatively I can make the MBP dual boot WinXP and solve all my licencing problems.... but I'd prefer not to have to deal with windows any more.

This doesn't really have anything to do with MBPs, but why don't you try contacting Adobe and finding out about a crossgrade? You may just need to pay the upgrade price to switch over to the Mac versions of the programs. You can clone a hard drive to another hard drive and have it bootable, but I don't know of a way to make a DVD bootable for anything other than reinstalling the OS or running diagnostic programs.

Disk Utility can be used to make restorable images.

Aside from being in the wrong forum, we cannot allow threads that explain or condone piracy.
