I really dont want to have to mail in my Macbook to get this repaired because mine isnt that bad but I also dont like it much obviously.

Any chance Apple would send this to me to do myself? I cant imagine it being too difficult.

If not has anyone been able to schedule a repair in store to where I wouldnt have to take the laptop in and leave it until the part was there?

I doubt they'd let you do it.

There's no way Apple, or an Apple service provider, would sell you the part. Working on laptops is NOT easy, and sometimes involve disposable parts that you have to replace as well (e.g. tape strips).

But a good Apple Authorized Service Provider would let you schedule an appointment to do the repair. (Just don't expect that from an Apple Store.)

The alternative is to buy the parts online from third parties.

Yea, I did that through my local apple store. They ordered part, called me once it came in. I Brought it in the morning, and had it back my lunch.
