Hi all-

I'm a new purchaser of a Blackbook, and it being my first laptop\notebook, I was wondering if there was any useful laptop\notebook specific software or widgets I should be looking into.

Any suggestions?

Off the top of my head, probably Quicksilver would be the most useful. Its hard to explain, but its kind of like a application launcher...but so much more. With a few keystrokes you can combine ideas and tasks (like emailing an attachment to someone in your address book). Its a real timesaver. Best of all, its completely free!

iStumbler is pretty neat too. Lets you detect and monitor wireless connections.

Oh, and as far as the coolest, most useless program you could get - SeisMac:

Parallels Desktop. Lets you run Windows in a window... on your Mac.

Your Mac already came with most of the best Apps ever. When you actually find the need to add more you will have heard of them already

MS Office is very nice on Macs.

I have an older free version of wiretap for OSX 10.3 which is great for recording anything that comes thru the speakers of your laptop. If you want to totally skip paying for high quality music, sound effects, etc. this is the software to get:

The newer Tiger version costs only about $20. Worth it totally IMO.

But if you would rather take the honest route and not copy copywrighted music it's still nice software to have. Hey I never said I bootlegged anything...I was wondering if Windows has anything like this?

Anyone still use ONYX?
