Hello, there's something weird going on with my MBP 17. It automatically restarts I think once a day,. I'm not sure at exactly the same time, but if not that, around the same time. I don't think it has to do with what I'm doing a computer to at the moment. One time I was dragging a file to the trash, another time I was just surfing,.... There isn't any kind of schedule set on Energy Saver and I have Mac HelpMate installed but it's not set on any type of autoexecute and reboot either. I'm not sure what other program could be doing this. Every time this happens my computer is plugged in and the light on the plug is green. How can I stop this from happening because it's getting kinda annoying? Thanks!

Is this a graceful reboot where all the apps close, asking you to save your work where needed? Or do you mean the machine shuts off immediately on its own and you have to power it back up?

It's a reboot where it automatically starts the shut down process and starts back up again. I haven't been doing any work (it's the summer and I'm lazy) so I wouldn't know about that.

So that means it is gracefully rebooting (by work I meant any open files you may have that require saving when a program is quit). If that's the case, some software somewhere is causing it to reboot. If you do not have a reboot scheduled in Energy Saver preferences, search any other software you have installed. It's got to be somewhere. Another thing to try is to set up a test user account from the Accounts preferences. Log into the test account and see if it reboots there. If it doesn't, the problem is definitely some setting or something you installed for your account.

Yeah, it's still doing it. Is there any way I can see a log or something to get an idea of what's doing it? Or some way I could find what automated processes are going on that would cause it? Basically I'm looking for an easier way.
