I just got home this evening with my brand new MacBook. I am very excited. I think I got a good deal too. After doing some research, I found that Apple stores will sometimes sell what they call "refresh" products at a pretty good discount. Refresh products are NOT refurbished products or products in disrepair. They are simply products that were bought and returned within the 14 day period for a restocking fee, and then are resold basically brand new, the only difference being the packaging and seal has been broken. I got the 1.83 Ghz model for $980. Not bad I think.

Anyhow, I digress. The original point of this thread was to ask how in the heck should I clean the exterior of the white MacBook, as well as the glossy screen. Fingerprints are all over the place, and I don't want the thing to scratch up like my white nano did when cleaning it. Any recommended cleaning solutions or cloths for the exterior as well as the screen? Thanks!

iKlear... go buy the kit at the Apple Store for like $25. It's awesome.

A couple of things. First, reading the description on the website, it seems to indicate that iKlear is for the screen only. Can it be used for the body of the MacBook? If not, what would you use?

Second, the iKlear product seems to be a tad bit overpriced at $25 for a cloth and some isopropyl alcohol, although I could be wrong. Just curious if anyone has come up with a good cheap off the shelf solution here. Thanks for all the input!

Also, the iKlear solution doesn't seem to "support" the MacBook series. See below:

Use iKlear Apple Polish on the following:

* iPod & iPod mini: Control Panel/ Display/ Case
* iBook: LCD Screen/ Translucent Case/ Keyboard
* PowerBook: LCD Screen/ Aluminum or Titanium Case / Keyboard
* iMac: Flat Panel Display/ Chrome Pivot/ Base/ Mouse/ Keyboard HD Cinema & Studio Displays: Screen/ Translucent or Aluminum Case
* Power Mac G5: Brushed Aluminum Case
* iSight: Lens/ Case
* Original iMac/ eMac/ G3/ G4/ Cube: Translucent case/ Screen

Nowhere do I see the MacBook listed. Do you think it's just an oversight as far as them not updating this product when they launched the MacBooks, or do you think there is a legitimate reason why it wouldn't be good for a MacBook's case and screen?

The description on the iKlear just hasn't been updated. It's good for everything, not just screens. Besides, your 1.83 Macbook is the same finish as the iBooks. It is overpriced, but I like the stuff.
