Is it applecare? Or just a standard warranty.

I miss the days of the G5 and XPS Pentium 4 running side by side as high-end machines.

Yes the warranty is transferable. Call Apple Care and they wil take care of the transfer. You have up to the end of the one year warranty to purchase Apple Care. Make sure when you cal them that they confirm the warranty ending date.

As long as you have the receipt and the name of the original customer, you should be fine.

But if you don't have applecare, you can just go online or to the apple store and buy it. If you do have applecare do what that other guy said.

Yeah go for it, buy it online. Or in the actual store in your neighboorhood.

If you call 800-APL-CARE, all you need in the serial number and they will put the warranty in your name. They can also sell you AppleCare right there on the spot on the phone.
