It's 33 degrees C (91 degrees F) and I have no air con.

You could just about fry an egg on my PBook.

Is there any danger it'll over heat or is there a built in warning system for that kind of thing that will alert me that I need to turn my computer off?

Its a lot hotter inside your PB! You will probably burn out much before your PB!

Stay cool man!

91 F is nothing unusual here in Colorado. Here's what you do: Get a good window fan, and blow cooler air in during the cool evening and night-time hours. As soon as you find the outside air getting too warm in the morning, immediately close all the windows. Starting out 10 degrees cooler in the morning means you'll be that much cooler in the late afternoon. If you have south or west facing windows that let in too much sun (especially late afternoon), get translucent reflective window shades.

For daytime cooling of both yourself and the laptop, get a small, quiet desktop fan and blow air across both the laptop and yourself. (and elevate the back side of laptop with rubber eraser.)

Good advice.

I've had it sitting between two books so the fan blows air under it. But it's still pretty hot.

Your machine should shut itself off before it reaches damaging temperatures. If you get a sudden shutdown, that's probably what happened.

Your battery should also refuse to charge if its temperature gets too high, too.

Be careful not to burn yourself on the machine though
