Hey, I got an ibook from a person who said the screen was dead. When i got a charger and turned it on it makes the boot up ring but i cannot get the screen to turn on. ONE time i booted the ibook the screen turned on but got stuck at the apple screen and when i restarted it the screen would not turn on again. Does anyone know what the problem can be? I mean the LCD DID turn on once.

It's the inverter cable with the reed switch which needs to be replaced. (it's a known issue on all G3 iBooks. The cable gets damaged after a while when opening/closing the lid)
