Hi guys, sorry if this is a repeat...how can I tell if my new MacBook is version A or B (it's not in the serial #)? Just received a Week 31 today after two DOA's (Weeks 26 & 27) and am hoping for better luck.
Thanks

Not sure if this helps or not, but I got a Macbook on the 5th in Dallas, Tx.
My SE # ends with a B ??
I don't know if that means anything???

The build # would be the thing that would indicate a revision, not the serial number, wouldn't it?
Macbook - [1.83] - [2gig] - [60gig] - [White]
iPod Nano - [2gig] - [White]

A serial number can consist of alpha or numeric characters (have both).

The Model number ends in a /A typically.

Is the one you got a black or white book? ie. Black Books are MA472LL/A 13.3" Notebook

Post the first 5 characters only of your serial number to show factory and week numbers.

ie. 4H631xxxxxx where 31 is the calendar week build number.

Post the model number from your box to indicate which rev. ie. MA472LL/A or B

I have the white model, 2ghz/80 gb hd/1gb mem; Serial # is 4H631xxxxxx, Model is A1181, guess that means I have Version A...on the bright side, this one was not DOA and runs considerably cooler than my Week 27 loser.
Thanks-
