my dad has had this PowerBook G4 laptop for 2 years and he recently gave it to me. It's been working fine up untill a week ago. Every time i unplug it, it automatically shuts down. It's instantaneous. It has never had this problem before. like 2 weeks ago it used to last up to 3 hours at least with battery life. I have no idea what's wrong at all. If anyone could assist, i would really appreciate it.

Did the battery somehow become disloged in such a way that it's no longer making a proper connection with the contacts? Otherwise I suppose some internal connector could have come loose. Seems unlikely though.

i checked the battery, but it's firmly in place. it hasn't gotten dislodged. just to be safe, i removed and and put it back in and it still shuts down as soon as you unplug it
