I bought my MBP 15 2.16ghz blah blah for college back in the last week of june. Overall i must say i am happy. It is my first mac. There are a couple things, however, that i would like to get fixed.

It gets hot; almost to the point where i cant rest it on my lap. It has the CPU whine, pretty loud. The display is bowed slightly at each corner so when it closes it doesnt lie straight. Last, but not least, the hinge is just a tad loose so if it closes to about 4in left it cant support itself anymore.

Do i have a chance at getting it fixed? Will they replace the whole unit because of the screen issues or just the logic board?

If they end up replacing the board how long does that take (i leave for school in 2 weeks) and should i back up my HD and remove a couple programs (nothing major) that friends have given me (i dont have licenses)?

Is it possible they will give me a new MBP?

Should i go to apple store or call them?

Thanks!

Just go to the Apple store. You obviously need things repaired. If it needs to be sent in, it's usually pretty fast. But go now.
