I have never had any doubt in the quality of apple product as I have experienced with my iMac and iBook. However, I think it is time to get a new MacBook Pro. It seems the Refurbished MacBook is alot cheaper. But, my question is how is the quality of those types of machine. Does anyone have any experience with them, are they worth the money?
Cheers
Nathan

they can be good... theyre usually put through a lot of testing, often more than the new machines.

Thanks guys, just one more question, what really is the refurbished Apple computer? Were they just the demo computers people use in the apple center or something else?
By the way, should I wait bit longer for the new MacBooks pro. Just a question, when did apple released their latest MacBook Pro 15 inch, 17 inch and MacBook 13 inch?
Cheers
Nathan

most likely, they're returns.
the good thing is that they come with upgrades sometimes. mine came with the 7200 rpm drive.. i've heard of others coming with more ram.

Aside from cosmetic issues (which have all been fixed, no questions asked at the Apple Store), my refurb is nice. Plus, the price can't be beat.
Issues/replacements:
- Keyboard keys tilted / replaced the whole keyboard (still have tilted keys because this keyboard is poorly manufactured)
- Scratch on top plate under left apple key / replaced top plate
- bent aluminum above latch button due to lack of glue / glued during top plate replace
No scratches or dents anywhere else. No noises and even runs fairly cool (67-70 degrees) unless under stress.

i've been curious about refurbs myself. so when you get it, do they have brand new cases on them or will they be original with scratches, scuffs, etc?

It's nice to hear that Apple's are nice refurbished. I've always been leary myself buying refurbs ever since I bought a Compaq many-a-year ago and it died on me within two weeks and Compaq wouldn't touch it.

No scuffs on this end. The only downside is it comes in a brown refurb box rather than the sexy black box new mbps come in.
