I have had my Macbook for THREE days and it is already being sent back for a REPLACEMENT laptop. Whenever I would shut down my laptop I couldn't get it to turn back on. The first time this occured it reset the Power Management Unit (PMU) and then the laptop turned on. The second time (most recent) I reset the PMU however the Macbook did not turn on and is being sent to Apple for a replacement Macbook. I am just warning people that may have had this same issue occur that the issue is most likekly the PMU and the only way to fix your laptop is to get it replaced. Sorry

Frank,

This doesn't surprise me at all. I had many MacBook Pro replacements (4) before I got a PERFECT system. They couldn't beleive how many times I had problems. The people at the stores are great though because they just kept giving me a brand new one and taking my old one back. My machine didn't have to see a genius and I didn't have to pay a restocking fee for each replacement. These people have been very kind to me. Matter of fact, I'm going to call them up today and thank them for all their help with my MacBook Pro situation. Good luck with your second MacBook, I hope you don't have to keep getting a different one!

I wish I had bought mine from the store. It makes more sense to me. But at the time they didn't have the MB in white with 80 GB HD and 1 GB Ram. I am recieving a free STM Alley as gratitude.
