Well I decided to hook up my Macbook to my external monitor (Viewsonic vp181b) via DVI. I purchased a DVI cord and the mini-DVI to DVI connector, got it all hooked up, but the screen won't display anything! Here is what I've done to troubleshoot this so far ... maybe I am forgetting something.

The Macbook has recognized the monitor (exact brand & model) so I tried all different resolutions and frequencies
I have unplugged everything and replugged everything
I have stepped through all the different inputs on the monitor
Researched this online (vp181b + mac + dvi) and found nothing

I have the apple mini-DVI to DVi adapter and I bought this DVI cable

Any help would be much appreciated!!
