I ordered my macbook sunday afternoon. the apple site said it would ship within 24 hours. So here it is 52 hours later- still hasn't shipped. It's not cto. I was hoping to get it by tomorrow. Even did the 2-3 day shipping. I called- they said it should be shipped today
Is this normal?

thanks!

No. If you don't have it by Thursday, something could be wrong. Welcome to MacNN

Most people here ordered theirs the day or the first few days it was released, so we all waited circa 1 week for ours. Yours should be on its way, though. Sometimes the tracking is a bit behind, too.

I get to be the second person to welcome you to the MacNN Forums!

Sometimes Apple's tracking is WAY behind. Our iBook arrived on the day Apple said it would ship. Really. Their system is not always updated when a status changes, like "shipped," so don't be surprised when you get a tracking number and it's already almost to your door.

By the way, if you ordered ANY Built To Order features, including simply more RAM, it WILL take at least an extra day, and often three days, before it ships. That 24 hour shipping time is for absolutely stock computers that they just have to take off the shelf and slap a shipping label on.

i placed a CTO order on 9-Aug and it arrived the morning of 15-Aug. Tracking showed it was picked up in Suzhou China on the 10th, but the tracking data did not update until the 12-13th. Not bad IMHO. I'd expect a standard version to arrive quicker...

Got an email from apple this morning. There was a delay in shipping- won't go out until tomorrow arriving on monday. grrrrrr. The rebate nano i got with it was delievered this morning.
Should have just gone to the apple store to pick one up. I was trying to save on the tax. We had a tax free holiday over the weekend when I couldn't make it to the store.
The 75 dollars I saved is not worth the wait.

They did refund my shipping charge though- I had paid for express.

I am trying to remind myself that patience is a virtue.

Well I purchased mine on Saturday as a CTO (bigger hard drive) and it left China Tuesday night and apparently left Alaska this afternoon. According to Apple it'll arrive on the 24th, and FedEx claims an arrival date of tomorrow, so I estimate somewhere between the two dates. No 2-3 day shipping or anything, just straight ground and now I wait.
- I have spoken.
