Anyone have an idea what precisely the SMC Firmware Update does that was just released? I read the tech article here but all it indicates is that it changes fan behavior, but changes it how? I've been pretty much fine with the fan behavior on my MacBook aside from, say, that sometimes it seems like the CPU temp is a little high (though in line with what everyone else says), any clue what benefit this brings to the user?

Fan's seem to come on at lower temps and come on at a lower speed, this helps to keep the CPU cooler under loads. It also eliminates the moo'ing problem some are experiencing.

Thanks... Yeah. I went and checked TUAW and noticed statements to that effect. However, anyone else that notices anything else, feel free to post and comment. I just installed, and i do notice that at low usage it definitely keeps the CPU cooler, running at 56˚C on a minimal load right now :-)
