Lately I've had a problem that seems like it's something wrong with the PMU, but I don't know anything about that sort of thing. When my battery runs out, my MBP doesn't sleep, it just dies. When I plug it back in and boot up, the battery life indicator says the battery is 33% full, but it's obviously totally drained. I can't recalibrate the battery in the usual way, because it's not possible to let it drain until it sleeps. Ideas?

This has been posted and reported about to the edge of the universe and back. ;-)

Call Apple. They'll send you a new battery. It's a known defect in some earlier batteries.

Darn. Sorry for reposting a known issue... I had read about the battery exchange, but the reason Apple has posted is overheating and swelling, so I was hoping this was something else that could be easily fixed before I get around to ordering that new battery.
