im getting ready for college next year and i am needing an upgrade from my imac g4 to a MBP i used my G4 for video editing and high prefomance apps, as well as smaller ones like safari, ichat, keynote, and so on. should i wait for the merom?
i hear its 64 bit and aslo that 64 bit is slower on regular apps, i need some help with which i should get. i dont know much about the hardware and could use all the help i can get.
and second is getting the 7200 rpm worth the $180

Merom is worth waiting for because it will probably happen early september. Also with the merom, the mbp will probably pick up the easy swap drives and it will be cheaper to switch the drive yourself.
