I have a powerbook titanium g4 and it used to work perfect untill I erased and installed os x tiger.
Now when I open system preferences and select screen saver and try to adjust the screen saver or wallpaper it freezes and sometimes beeps . I've tried deleting com.apple.preferences, but it doesnt work. hopefully I've havent tried everything.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
thanks.

Can you better define what happens? When it freezes, do you mean you get a kernel panic, the mouse freezes, spinning wheel of death, what? As for the beeps, what does that sound like? Have you heard this sound anywhere else before? Not much to go on here...
