Hi guys,

I wonder if you can help me solve this problem. Safari on my G4 powerbook running OS 10.3.9 has a problem with secure connections. It is becoming a significant annoyance. Here are the observations:

For several weeks I could not connect to *any* secure webpage ("https") either directly or through a link on a non-secure "http" page. The error message was "Safari can't open the page ... because it couldn't establish a secure connection to the server ..." I used to have this functionality all the time in Safari on this computer. I do not know of anything that happened to my OS that might give this problem. I tried updating Safari, but I have the latest version I think (1.3.2) for my 10.3.9 OS. I then deleted the cache and removed cookies, but that had didn't solve the problem. Today I did Safari -> Reset Safari, and this got me into one secure server, let's call it server "A", but all the others will not work. So I did "Reset Safari" again, and this time I tried connecting to a different secure server first, but it didn't work (but server A still could be connected to).

I have no problem connecting with different web browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera to secure servers. But for various reasons including stability, I don't like using Firefox and IE. And furthermore, some sites do not permit connections with my favorite browser Opera.

I checked, and my date/time settings are accurate.

Do any of you have any ideas what could be going on? I'd like to not think that I have to upgrade to OS 10.4 in order to solve this problem. I have googled this problem several times but...
