Hello!

My brother just got a MacBook this past month and has been nothing but good for him, but when he goes to put in his CD, it will open in iTunes and begin to import, but it only gets through the first few songs until it freezes.

Other times I put the CD in the drive and it will spit it right back out.

What is wrong with the machine? Is it hardware? or software?

The only thing that comes to my mind is a scratched CD. Just a guess.

Yeah the one that gets spit out is pretty scratched, but it works in my car.

However the other ones are not at all scratched but do freeze up after importing 3 tunes.

Weirdness. Got one of those cleaning CDs? It be dirty for some stupid reason.

It seems there is a problem with the Macbook and Macbook Pro optical drives. And/or a serious iTunes problem as well.
