I recently received a 17" Mac Book Pro that was damaged in a car crash. The original owner gave it to me because insurance got them another one. As far as I can tell the damage is only to the case and screen. Where could I find a replacement screen and case? And approximately how much will I need to spend?

Thanks in advance.

A good first place to start is to take it to an Apple Store, if you're near one. They'll give you an estimate, which will probably be at the high end. Then, you can see if elsewhere is cheaper.

Keep in mind that it should still work just fine connected to an external monitor and keyboard.

Add a 20" widescreen external monitor and you've got yourself a Core Duo iMac equivalent. Not too bad.
