Sort of.

You have to close the lid, then attach a keyboard, monitor, and mouse to wake it up from sleep. Then you can use it in "closed-lid" mode.

However, I'm not sure if your iBook supports it.

The iBook does not officially support lid-closed mode. There is an application that will let you activate such a feature, called SleepLess. Its shareware - ie it will work, but it keeps bugging you to buy the full version.

This app is fine to use on a MacBook, PowerBook, and MacBook Pro, and does work on the iBook, however the iBook was designed to take in some of the air for cooling through the keyboard, and using the iBook with the lid closed can cause serious over heating problems.

Again, I would highly discourage you from using your iBook with the lid closed

great, it worked! but some othe times i close the lid, the ibook just turns off completely, same way you would rip off the power cord from the wall, any solutions?

So with SleepLess would it be bad to simply close your MacBook's lid and walk across the house, and open it? Because I've wanted to do that and I doubt carrying it into the bedroom will freak it out heat-wise.... .
